With respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander protocol, and out of recognition that our work takes place on their unceded lands, Coaching Unlimited representatives would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of Country throughout the great diversity of Nations that exist across Australia. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ continuing culture and connection to land, waters, and community. We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders both past and present and acknowledge that lands we work, live, educate and play on always were, and always will be, the lands of the First Peoples.

INFORMING AND PROMOTING INCLUSIVE POLICIES

Coaching Unlimited is a collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and sports leaders to recognise and support the development of community and professional networks sport coaches.

COACHING AND MENTO

We broaden career opportunities within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities by providing formal coaching qualifications, increasing health promoting education, and by providing practical leadership tools which can be shared with the community.

COACHING AND MENTORSHIP SERVICES

We provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples with opportunities to advance their coaching skills and their roles as community leaders.

SUPPORTING SPORT COACHES AND COMMUNITY LEADERS

I never had an Aboriginal coach in Rugby League. That’s where part of the issue lies, I never had a basis or formation of what Aboriginal coaching looks like. I had no one from a similar cultural background that I could measure myself up against - in essence, I had no accessibility to a figure that I could look up to and emulate.

This is where Coaching Unlimited can become an integral part in increasing Indigenous participation in sport long-term. More coaches will breed more coaches as inspirational community leaders for Aboriginal youth. This is because Aboriginal coaches do more than coach - they understand and empathise with Aboriginal issues on mental, physical and emotional levels that can go a long way to ensuring a long term affiliation in sport. And that is what Coaching Unlimited has the power to do - provide more opportunities for Aboriginal coaches in order to make that impact that could improve a child’s quality of life, whether it be  sporting or not.
